Health Portals for Health Workers: RCH, ANMOL, Ni-kshay, U-WIN and More
Health workers in India report into several government systems, each with its own job. This directory explains what each portal does, who uses it and its official address where we could confirm one, so you always reach the right system.
- Disease surveillance
- IHIP (IDSP data entry), launched 5 April 2021
- Monthly facility data
- HMIS, started 2008-09; HMIS 2.0 from December 2020
- Mother and child tracking
- RCH portal (upgraded MCTS) and ANMOL tablet app (7 April 2016)
- TB
- Ni-kshay, launched 2012
- Digital health ID
- ABHA, a 14-digit identifier under ABDM (launched September 2021)
- Telemedicine
- eSanjeevani, operational launch November 2019
An ANM or CHO in India may use four or five different government systems in one week: one for disease surveillance, one for monthly service data, one for mothers and children, one for vaccination and one for TB. The names are similar, the logins are separate, and fake look-alike sites are a real risk.
This page is a plain directory. For each portal we give one line on what it does, who uses it and, only where official sources confirm it, the official web address. Where we could not confirm an address we say so instead of guessing. This site is an independent guide. It is not run by MoHFW, NHM or any state, and it does not provide logins to any of these systems. Our main focus is IHIP, covered in the IHIP portal guide.

Surveillance and service data: IHIP, IDSP and HMIS
IHIP is where IDSP disease data are now entered. MoHFW launched it on 5 April 2021 as the "next generation highly refined version" of IDSP, tracking 33 diseases, up from 18. Sub-centres fill the S form, health facilities the P form and labs the L form. Read our IDSP explainer for the programme behind it.
HMIS is different. It is a web-based system to monitor the National Health Mission, built on monthly, facility-wise aggregate data. HMIS started in 2008-09, facility-level entry began in 2011-12, and HMIS 2.0 was launched in December 2020. As of March 2022, about 2.17 lakh facilities in about 747 districts were reporting through it. In simple terms, which is our own summary: HMIS counts services delivered each month, IHIP tracks disease cases as they happen. See our HMIS guide for the full comparison.
हिंदी में सारांश
भारत में स्वास्थ्य कार्यकर्ता कई सरकारी पोर्टल इस्तेमाल करते हैं। IHIP (ihip.mohfw.gov.in/idsp)
Mother and child: RCH portal, ANMOL and the older MCTS
The Mother and Child Tracking System (MCTS) was launched by the Government of India in December 2009, built by MoHFW and NIC. Its old address was nrhm-mcts.nic.in. It has been upgraded into the RCH portal (प्रजनन एवं बाल स्वास्थ्य), which does "web-based name-based tracking" of beneficiaries across reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health. Kerala's NHM site describes it as giving "Real-time line-listing of RCH services provided to each individual". HMIS holds aggregate numbers, while the RCH portal holds the individual line list.
ANMOL (ANM On Line) is a "tablet-based application which empowers ANMs", launched on 7 April 2016 by the Union Health Minister. ANMs use it to enter and update beneficiary records close to real time.
Immunisation: U-WIN
U-WIN is "a fully digitized record of vaccination for pregnant women and children from birth to 17 years" under the Universal Immunization Programme. PIB lists SMS alerts, a QR-based eVaccination certificate, ABHA creation and 11 regional languages. As of 16 September 2024 it held 6.46 crore beneficiaries and 23.06 crore doses. PIB said on 28 October 2024 that the Prime Minister would launch the U-WIN portal on 29 October 2024. U-WIN was also used in pilot mode in all districts during IMI 5.0 in 2023.
We could not confirm U-WIN's official web address from an official source, so we do not list one. Ask your District Immunization Officer (DIO). For the immunisation campaign background, see Mission Indradhanush.
TB, NCDs, hepatitis and telemedicine
- Ni-kshay: the "Integrated ICT system for TB patient management and care in India", launched in 2012, with a web portal at nikshay.in and an app (NTEP).
- National NCD Portal / NCD Application: software for population-based screening and management of common non-communicable diseases, built with MoHFW, Tata Trusts and Dell Technologies. ASHAs and ANMs use a tablet or mobile app; PHCs, CHCs and DHs use the web version. National training of trainers ran in April 2018. We found only an official test-server page, so we do not list a production address.
- NVHCP: the National Viral Hepatitis Control Program, launched on 28 July 2018 (World Hepatitis Day), aims at "countrywide elimination of Hepatitis C by 2030" and at reducing illness from hepatitis A, B, C and E.
- eSanjeevani: the national telemedicine service, with operational launch in November 2019. It has two variants: eSanjeevani-AAM (provider to provider through Ayushman Arogya Mandirs) and eSanjeevaniOPD (patient to provider). PIB reported over 32.6 crore consultations as of about December 2024.
Digital health ID: ABDM and ABHA
The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) was launched in September 2021. Its ABHA is a "14-digit unique health identifier". ABDM also runs the Health Professional Registry (HPR) and Health Facility Registry (HFR). As of 6 July 2026, PIB reported over 93 crore ABHA accounts and over 104 crore linked health records. U-WIN can create ABHA numbers, and IHIP was described at launch as compatible with the National Digital Health Mission.
A health worker may be asked to help someone create an ABHA. Do this only on official channels, and never collect or keep someone's OTP yourself.
How to make sure you are on the official portal
- Type the address yourself from the directory above or from a letter issued by your state, district or programme office.
- Check the domain ending. Every official address in our directory ends in gov.in, apart from nikshay.in, which NTEP itself gives as the Ni-kshay portal.
- Watch for old addresses. Older documents mention addresses such as ihip.nhp.gov.in (superseded by ihip.mohfw.gov.in), hmis.nhp.gov.in, nrhm-hmis.nic.in and nrhm-mcts.nic.in. Prefer the current addresses in the directory and be careful with links that send you to old ones.
- Never share passwords or OTPs with anyone, including callers who claim to be from a helpdesk.
- Get your ID through your supervisor. IHIP, for example, has no self-registration: user IDs are requested by the DSO and approved by the SSO.
- Report doubtful sites or apps to your MO or DSU. For the IHIP app specifically, see our IHIP app guide.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the RCH portal and HMIS?
The RCH portal holds name-based, individual records of beneficiaries such as pregnant women and children, as a real-time line list of services. HMIS holds aggregate numbers: monthly, facility-wise totals of services delivered, used to monitor the National Health Mission. The Kerala government's description puts it the same way.
What is the ANMOL app?
ANMOL stands for ANM On Line. MoHFW describes it as a tablet-based application that empowers ANMs, launched on 7 April 2016 by the Union Health Minister. ANMs use it to enter and update beneficiary records close to real time.
What is U-WIN and where do I find it?
U-WIN is a fully digitised vaccination record for pregnant women and children from birth to 17 years under the Universal Immunization Programme, with SMS alerts and QR eVaccination certificates. PIB said it would be launched on 29 October 2024. We could not confirm its official address, so ask your District Immunization Officer.
What is the Ni-kshay portal used for?
Ni-kshay is India's integrated ICT system for TB patient management and care, launched in 2012. It has a web portal at nikshay.in and a mobile app, according to the National TB Elimination Programme. If you need access for your work, ask your TB programme supervisor.
Is ABHA the same as an IHIP user ID?
No. ABHA is a 14-digit unique health identifier for people under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. An IHIP user ID is a staff login tied to a health facility for disease surveillance reporting, created through the DSO and SSO. Never use or share either credential outside its official system.
Is this site an official government health portal?
No. This is an independent guide for health workers and students. It is not run by MoHFW, NCDC, NHM or any state, and it does not offer logins. Use the official addresses in our directory, typed yourself, and never share passwords or OTPs with anyone.
